"The Ice Maiden" is set in a school and mainly a fish shop, it's probably based in a time time like ours. It's based in modern world, I think this matters because the book is like saying you can love something that's not alive(seriously I mean it). To summarise the story it's about this kid who falls in love with an ice sculpture and tries to save it.
A boy walks home from school everyday and Mr.mantolini a man who owns a fish shop makes really good ice sculptures and puts them in the shop window he asks the boy to be his cousins friend but he says no after that Mr.mantolini is really upset. Later that week he finds a beautiful ice sculpture of a girl and tries to save it from melting.
My book has thirteen different tales in the book so my my tale I'll do today is called The Ice Maiden.
The main characters name is... I have no idea because the author does say his name, but he falls in love with an ice statue for some random reason.
The other character is the man who owns the fish shop, his name is Mr.Mantolini, he carves beautiful ice sculptures.
For school we have been doing novel studies and it's boring.
My book: Paul Jennings Thirteen Unpredictable Tales
1.Why did he make thirteen different stories in one book?
2.Is there any romance and horror in this?
3.Will there be humour?
4.What will happen to the main characters in these stories?
Why did I choose this book:
Because Paul Jennings books are generally funny and sometimes has mysteries, also because I enjoy his books.
